Makepeace Partner On New Carver Neighborhood

Wareham –The Cape Cod Cranberry Growers’ Association has tapped George D. Rogers of Sandwich to be its 47th President as the organization enters its 120th year in service to the cranberry growers in the region. Rogers has served on the Board of Directors since 1999 and was most recently its First Vice President. Topping the agenda for Rogers’s administration will be promoting and enhancing efforts to protect and preserve water quality in the cultivation of cranberries.
Rogers is Senior Vice President of Cranberry Operations for the ADM Cranberry Company LLC of Wareham where he has worked since 1975. In that capacity, he oversees both the cranberry and the sand and gravel divisions. A.D. Makepeace Co. has always been a leader in CCCGA, Abel D. Makepeace, founder of Makepeace Co., is credited with starting the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers’ Association in 1888.
According to CCCGA Executive Director, Jeff LaFleur, “George Rogers has already demonstrated his solid leadership abilities to this organization. I look forward to a very productive two years with him as President.”
The outgoing President of CCCGA is Peter Beaton. Other incoming officers are 1st Vice President Nick Decas of Mattapoisett, 2nd Vice President Brad Morse of Rochester, and Secretary/Treasurer Dom Fernandes of Carver.
